Actress Mary Stuart (not Stewart ) Masterson, who makes her directorial debut with “The Cake Eaters,” said she is looking forward to conversations with Woodstock Film Festival audiences in October.
“I’ll be doing a woman-oriented panel and the screening,” she said in a phone interview today.
Filmed in Catskill, “The Cake Eaters" explores two families who are inextricably linked by love, death and betrayal.
Stuart Masterson, who said she loves working in the Hudson Valley, splits her time “70-30” between a Columbia County farmhouse and Brooklyn.
She is scouting locations in Sullivan County for her next film, “Tickling Leo,” which was written by her husband, television and theater actor Jeremy Davidson. Stuart Masterson is producing, Davidson is directing and Peter Masterson, Stuart Masterson’s brother, is the cinematographer.
“We start shooting Oct. 15,” she said.
The Woodstock Film Festival takes place Oct. 10-14. A full programming schedule will be announced Sept. 18.
